The organizer reserves the right to reproduce the works sent to the festival, Zagreb 2010, as the advertising material without being obliged to pay a fee to an author whose work may be used.

Azerbaijan Cartoonists’ Union announces International Cartoon Contest
“Molla Nasreddin – Azerbaijan 2010”. The III International Cartoon
Contest is held by the support of Azerbaijan Republic Culture and
Tourism Ministry, Azerbaijan Artists’ Union and FECO ( Federation of
Cartoonists Organisations ). The Contest is organized on the occasion
of the 130th anniversary of the first cartoonist of Azerbaijan
A.Azimzadeh and of the 70th anniversary of Azerbaijan Artists’ Union’s
foundation.

Terms of the Contest:

1. Subject: “Artist” (“Fine Arts Withstanding the Test of Time”).
2. Contest is open to all professional and amateur cartoonists.
3. Deadline is March 01, 2010.
4. Only original works are accepted. At the same time signed and
numbered prints by the
cartoonist are accepted.
5. Each cartoonist can submit a max of 2 cartoon works.
6. Format: min A4, max A3.

7. Cartoons that won places in other contests are not accepted.
8.On the back of each work the following information shouldappear:

The oldest Serbian illustrated review "Ilustrovana politika" is organizing the first international cartoon contest honoring its own the most famous cartoonist Aleksandar Klas (1928-2002).
Since 1950 over 30 000 his cartoons were published in national and international newspapers and magazines, and he had over 60 individual exhibitions. He got more than 130 prizes, so he entered in "Guinness’s book of records" as the most rewarded cartoonist in the world. Besides cartoon his occupation is painting, as well as illustration of books.

Participation rules

1. Competition is open to professional and amateur cartoonists from all over the world.
3. Participants take part in the competition with original cartoons. Cartoons must be and amateur cartoonists from all over the world.
2. The theme of the cartoons is free. Cartoons must be signed by the cartoonist in case that they are submitted as digital prints. Photographs, photocopies, etc., will not be accepted.
4. Size of cartoons should not exceed 30 x40 cm.
5. Name, surname, address, phone number, e-mail, country of origin of the participant should be written on the back of his/her piece of work.
6. Works must reach the organizer not later than November 1, 2009, packed in protective cover to: "Ilustrovana politika", za konkurs karikatura Aleksandar Klas, Makedonska 35, 11000 Belgrade, Serbia.
7. Result will be announced on second half of November 2009.
8. Participating cartoons will be kept at the virtual Cartoon Museum, to be established by the review "Ilustrovana politika".
9. First International Aleksandar Klas Cartoon Contest will be celebrated with an award ceremony and exhibition of selected cartoons in November 2009 in Belgrade.
10. Jury will award the following prizes:
- Grand Prix A.Klas: 1000 euros and diploma,
- 5 diplomas.
11. Participating cartoons will be put into catalogue. The cartoons for the catalogue and exhibition will be selected by a jury. A catalogue will be sent to the cartoonists whose piece of work are exhibited and published in the catalogue.
12. Organizer reserve the right to use the sent cartoons for ILUSTROVANA POLITIKA advertising purposes without any special fees paid to the authors: to be exhibited and reproduced in a variety of advertising materials, as well as printed in catalogue and review.
13. Participants are considered to have accepted all the conditions.
14. Participants are kindly asked not to post the works via electronic means as these will not be accepted for the competition.

El más destacado caricaturista Colombiano nacido en Rionegro - Antioquia (1894 - 1931), llamado " El Emperador" de la Caricatura.
Uno de los más perspicaces y finos humoristas latinoamericanos del siglo XX, en su obra el humor fue sátira, se caracterizó especialmente por la caricatura política.
Sus caricaturas eran verdaderas radiografías de los hechos y de los individuos. Fue pionero de la publicidad gráfica en Colombia.

16° FESTIVAL INTERNACIONAL DE CARICATURA "Ricardo Rendón”

Apoyado por la Administración Municipal de Rionegro durante quince años consecutivos en homenaje a Ricardo Rendón Bravo.
El Festival, único en la historia del país por su trayectoria y continuidad; ha permitido mirar la percepción de autores de más de 80 países, protagonistas de los cambios y vivencias de los pueblos que con el mismo humor aportan al crecimiento de la humanidad.
El pensamiento risueño y su idioma universal, con la Caricatura logramos el sueño y el anhelo universal de borrar fronteras tanto territoriales como ideológicas que nos impiden vivir en armonía y visualizar la luz de la libertad como principio de paz y convivencia.

LAS CONDICIONES :

1) El Concurso está abierto a todos los caricaturistas de el mundo.

7) También se puede participar en el concurso con caricaturas que ya hayan sido publicadas o premiadas con anterioridad, todas las caricaturas presentadas deberán ser originales, no se aceptarán fotografías, fotocopias, etc, y el envío de las obras correrán por cuenta del participante.
8) Los participantes han de enviar un breve currículum vitae y una fotografía junto con sus obras.
9) En el reverso de cada caricatura debe ir el nombre, apellidos, dirección, número de teléfono y país de origen del participante.
10) Los Caricaturistas seleccionados recibirán un catálogo.
11) El jurado estará compuesto de caricaturistas colombianos y extranjeros.
12) Los resultados se anunciarán en el mes de Diciembre de 2009.
13) Las caricaturas presentadas en el concurso no serán devueltas.
14) El hecho de llenar la solicitud de participación y entregarla, implica que los concursantes aceptan y autorizan a Cartoonrendon la publicación de su caricatura o sus caricaturas en medios impresos, representación y reproducción en aparatos de audio y/o video con todos los derechos, incluido el traspaso de estos derechos a los terceros sin limitación de tiempo, lugar y número de veces de su publicación; aparte de esto Cartoonrendon tendrá el derecho de exponer, archivar, publicar en Internet u otros posibles medios de publicaciones no mencionados aquí, dichas caricaturas sin ninguna limitación de ningún tipo. The Outstanding Colombian caricaturist born in Rionegro-Antioquia (1894-1931), call "The Emperor" of the Cartoon. One of the most penetrating and fine Latin American humorists in the XX century, in their work the humor was satire, it was characterized especially by the political cartoon. Their cartoons were true x-rays of the facts and of the individuals. It was pioneer of the graphic publicity in Colombia.

16th RENDON INTERNATIONAL CARTOON FESTIVAL

The Festival is an event sponsored by the municipal administration of Rionegro during Fourteen serial years in memory of Ricardo Rendón Bravo.
The Festival, only in the history of the country for their trajectory and continuity; he has allowed to look at the perception of authors of but of 80 countries, main characters of the changes and experiences of the towns that contribute to the humanity's growth with the same humour. The laughing thought and its universal language, caricature is the most effective weapon against the thought that does not laugh.
It is a dream and an universal yearning to erase frontiers so territorial as ideological that prevent us to live in harmony and to visualize the light of the freedom as principle of peace and coexistence.

THE CONDITIONS :

1) The contest is open to all cartoonists all over the world.

8) Participants are requested to send, together with their cartoons, a short curriculum vitae and a photograph.
9) In the reverse of each cartoon he/she should go the name, surname, address, telephone number and country of origin of the participant.
10) The selected Caricaturist will receive free a catalogue.
11) The jury composed of Colombian and foreign cartoonists.
12) The results will be announced in the month of December of 2009.
13) The cartoons presented in the competition won't be returned.
14) By filling in the entrance form attached, the participant declares and accepts in advance that (s)he has turned over the financial rights (s)he holds over the cartoon or cartoons vis-à-vis the public to Cartoonrendon without limitation on location, time period and number the intellectual property all rights for publication.(S)he agrees that Cartoonrendon may use such cartoons, exhibit them, keep them in its archives and publish them on the internet or through other media.

I dont know how you call the game of childern of a ball and a stick attached to a string , to get the stick into a hole in the ball. For us , it is a " balero" . Is a very ancient toy . San Isidro City Hall is making the Museum of the Toy and so they called 260 artist to turn this game into art : http://baleros.blogspot.com

ZIKISON (1885. - 1950.) Was a Satirist, a caricaturist, an editor, a publisher, and a printer. Between two wars in Serbia he was an actuator, a Co – Author editor of many of newspaper for humor and satire. He has been suffering and imprisoned by Communist Regime in 1949. Soon after that torture and seizing his property, he was died in 1950.

ŽIKIŠON, je živeo od 1885 . do 1950. Satiričar, karikaturista, urednik, izdavač i štampar. Pokretač je saradnik i urednik više listova za humor i satiru između dva rata u Srbiji. Stradao je i bio zatvoren od komunističkog režima 1949. posle te torture i zaplenjene imovine, ubrzo je 1950. Preminuo.

PROPOSITIONS FOR PARTICIPATION

Subject of 37. WGC: ”My subject”
- Only original cartoons will be accepted (optional, will be accepted digital prints of the cartoons on paper signed by authors-cartoonists)

- It is allowed for one author to send maximum two (2) cartoons. On the back side of the cartoons please write the name and surname of the cartoonist and the title of the cartoon.

- Size of cartoons should be on paper format A4 or A3.

- The organizer of WGC will not be responsible for any damage that may occur during postage and handling.

- The organizer of WGC will keep the cartoons as part of collection of museum of WGC.

- By filling out the Participation form, the participant declares and accepts in advance that (s)he hands over the financial/copy rights (s)he holds over the cartoons to WGC for printing/publishing by WGC and Osten without any limitations on location or time period. The author agrees that the organizer of WGC can use the cartoons, exhibit them, keep them in its archives and publish them on the Internet or through other media.

- The Participation form and coupons are available for photocopying and you can pass them to your friends and colleagues who would like to participate in WGC.

- The Catalogue of 37. WGC will be distributed for free to all participants who’s cartoons will be published in the same Catalogue.

- WGC will cover the travel and accommodation expenses for following prize-winning cartoonists for the award ceremony in Republic of Macedonia: Grand Prix, First, Second and Third Prizes.

- Deadline for entries is July, 30, 2009.

Xue Youyuan, the largest Children education media group in China, starts the cartoon image collection contest for its core journal Passion for Learning!
This contest is undertaken by Zhongman Web (http://www.zhongman.com, the most professional cartoon information website in China) and Xue You Web (http://www.61go.com/ , the homepage of Xue You Yuan Education Media Group). It aims at looking for the cartoon spokesman for journal Passion for Learning and the long-term cartoon partner for Xue You Yuan Education Media Group.
The Chinese Characters Xue You Yuan（学友园）mean “learning, friends and party”, which rooted in the most influential Chinese education classical book the Analects: “Will you feel happy while learning and reviewing? Will you feel happy while there are friends coming afar? Enjoy the happiness alone, enjoy the happiness together, which is more happier?”
As Xue You Yuan’s core journal, Passion for Learning is the first grade subdivision learning journal for primary pupils in China. The journal has three branches: Chinese Language, Mathematics and Writing, which is edited from Grade One to Grade Six. So there are 18 volumes per month. It publishes about 150,000 copies per month, covers more than 320,000 primary schools and has more than 10 million pupil readers.
With its smart foresight, Xue You Yuan advocates the concept of learning-oriented cartoons for the first time. Passion for Learning exhibits all the knowledge points in primary schools courses with the lively cartoons, stories and game, and it also extends the knowledge points to ordinary life, to interest the children and help them to learning more about the colorful world
Passion for Learning believes: cartoon is a way of thinking. Pupil can acquire knowledge in a pleasant reading experience!

2. Regulations.
a Entries must be a complete sight “cartoon image”: human, animal, plants or other abstract image will be OK.
b Entries can be a single carton image, or a series of cartoon images with close relationship.
c Entries must be accompanied with description included the cartoon image’s name and symbolic meanings.
d The image must be close to the ordinary life and psychological characteristics of pupils, no matter in meaning expression and drawing skills. It also has to respect the independent personality of children, being funny, created individually and has universal promote potential
e Entries can be static cartoon or dynamic animation (flash).
(1) Static cartoon works: min. 300dpi, JPEG format.
(2) Dynamic animation works: 3-5 minute segments, .MPG, .AVI or .MOV format.
(3) Flash animation work must submit .SWF documents (authors should keep the .FLA source documents prepare for check).
(4) The entry form has to be finished. Your names, address, e-mail and phone number should be attached.
(5) Entries can be submitted both in e-mail or post letter. The title of e-mail or letter should specify “Zhongman (Passion for Learning Cup Cartoon Image Collection Contest)”

3. Deadline.

4. Assessment.
a All entries will be published on Zhongman Web and Xue You Web and accept the online voting. The cut-off date of voting is: Feb 1st, 2010.
b Organizing Committee will gather the result of voting, take the advises from education professors and cartoon experts, and then select the best work as the cartoon image of Passion for Learning. Another 10 finalist prize will be selected at the same time.

5. Prize and Awards.
Gold prize: one, 10,000 RMB with certificate.
Finalist Prize: ten, 1000 RMB each and certificate.

6. Special Note:
The finalist prize winners (or teams) will have the opportunity to sign with Xue You Yuan to draw covers and insert drawings of Passion for Learning magazine series (18 books per month). The fee of the cover is 1000-2000 RMB per page (18 pages per month). The fee of insert drawings is 200-400RMB per page (500 pages per month). Fixed remuneration is over 1.5 million RMB a year.
Signed author will also have the priority to gain the drawing works more than 40 kinds of excellent children’s books published by Xue You Yuan in priority.
At the same time, the finalist prize winners (or teams) will become the VIP member of the comic co-operation studio which was founded by Xue You Web and Zhongman Web. They will have the priority to participate the comics and animation-related activities which held by the both website.

7. Legal Statements.
a The organization has the right to use all the submitting work in such conditions: promotional materials, related publications, authorized media propaganda, official websites and users’ downloads, the Award Show and the exhibitions.
b Authors can participate other similar contests by using the same works outside the period of this cartoon image contest. However, the consequences caused by these behaviors that may be causing conflict with other contest organizers or related agencies will be undertaken by participants selves.
c Entries have to be original works. Participants should have full intellectual property rights. Infringement of intellectual property is forbidden. Participants will be disqualified immediately and bear all legal responsibility if such infringement acts are found.
d Entries cannot include any contents of the violation of laws and insult to other people. Participants will be disqualified immediately and bear all legal responsibility if such infringement acts are found.
e Organizing committee has the final right of interpretation.
